People always asking me why, with the advance computer program, I still choose to do something somewhat traditional and seemingly ordinary...................Seemingly ordinary?
This got me thinking..so why paper cut? Paper cut is a long, slow art of deliberate patience that demand all my attention and concentration. Every cut is carefully planned because every cut cannot be unmade.
I do not see paper as a base or a foundation- something I draw or sketch on. I see paper as the illustration. Through using paper cut technique, the paper becomes the transformed medium of becoming the character of a story. Through cutting, folding and layering, the character becomes alive.
It is exciting yet rejuvenating to my soul..seeing my every cut bring a new layer of becoming transformed and alive until the final illustration becomes the story.
